HAWK Contracting is a premier civil contracting specializing in pavement marking, signage, electrical guardrail and grading that works on all levels of projects from streets, parking lots, schools, parking garages, hospital, airports and beyond. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager with Civil (grading), Signage, Striping and Guardrail experience to join our team. Experience in electrical is also desired. ADOT experience is a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day construction activities, including supervision of subcontractors to deliver the project on time, on budget, per the plans and specifications, and ensuring top rated quality with an emphasis on safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with the Superintendent, coordinate and oversee performance of subcontractors to ensure contract compliance, expectations, quality and adherence to project schedule
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with owners, agencies, subcontractors, corporate management, inspectors, etc., providing customer service to develop long-term partnerships with client base
  • Oversee job site Safety & Compliance to ensure OSHA regulations are adhered too and a safe work environment
  • Perform accurate project controls ie. quantities, cost, revenue and financial forecasting to ensure company profitability goals are met
  • Coordinate with, operations manager and project team to develop a comprehensive plan from project start up, to managing resources, schedule, budget and successful kick-off
  • Participate in bid review and bid closing to ensure accuracy of bid and evaluate project feasibility; work with estimating team to develop bid schedule
  • Ensure accurate construction reports for the job allowing for continuous improvement in performance
  • Address any issues or changes in project scope and provide timely solutions to keep projects on track
  • Run projects at profitability levels to meet or exceed expected margins
  • Attend ADOT/other meetings including pre-construction, project and staff meetings
  • Prepare and present regular project updates, reports and performance metrics to management

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressive project experience in heavy civil
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Daily access to automobile in working condition or adequate alternative transportation.
  • Proof of meeting Arizona State requirements regarding auto licensing, driver's license, and liability insurance- clean driving record
  • Ability to drive company owned vehicle
  • Ability to pass a drug test – HAWK Contracting is a drug-free environment
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the ability to review and read construction plans, specifications and submittals
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment, withstand extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds multiple times in a shift
  • Willingness to travel throughout Arizona
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Demonstrated decision making skills
  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred
  • Experience utilizing construction management software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time
