Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.

Residential Services at Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center ("Sandra Eskenazi MHC") consists of three locations which includes a group home, transitional housing, and semi-independent living apartment building for Sandra Eskenazi MHC clients. Combined, these residential programs support Sandra Eskenazi MHC clients by providing housing and services for up to 75 residents. Across the residential sites, our team members have extensive experience at these sites and work collaboratively with a natural rhythm amongst themselves and with Sandra Eskenazi MHC outpatient teams to meet client needs.
Residential clients are adults, ages 18 and older, with a primary diagnosis of a serious mental illness and may have co-occurring substance use disorders.
Where You Fit InThe manager manages a team of leaders who supervise the day-to-day activities and direct care team members. The manager plays a critical role in the development and oversight of three residential programs at Sandra Eskenazi MHC while ensuring effective employee development, positive client outcomes, and a safe living environment that our clients are proud to call home.
The manager ensures team cohesion and an environment that tackles challenges together with ease and momentum in residential programs that operate 24 hours a day, 365 days per year. The manager recognizes that this is home for Sandra Eskenazi MHC client-residents, and as such, the manager prioritizes awareness of the living environment, escalates issues that can affect clients and their living environment, and collaborates with a wide variety of individuals and organizations until resolved.
Am I Qualified?
• Master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or health administration
• Five (5) years of experience in a healthcare setting
• A minimum of two (2) years of management/supervisory experience
• Valid Indiana driver's license and a driving record that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
• Proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health's mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County. Models Eskenazi Health values.
• Embraces, understands, and operates under the Recovery Model, including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) and the spirit of motivational interviewing
• Manages and coordinates day to day activities of service areas and teams
• Continually assesses efficiency of programs and makes needed adjustments to ensure operational success
• Oversees personnel from multiple disciplines
• Works with the team in setting goals, and makes recommendations regarding additions to program and/or reallocation of staffing resources
• Endorses and models a strengths-based, community centered model of care
• Provides administrative and/or clinical supervision to employees
• Leads consumer satisfaction and performance improvement initiatives
• Establishes quality/outcome indicators for programs and regularly assesses progress, reporting outcomes to the Leadership Team
• Establishes, monitors and manages the budget for area of responsibility
• Supplies financial reporting data to finance staff in a timely manner (forecasts, variance reports etc.)
• Ensures that client care follows established best practices
• Evaluates personnel and ensures professional development initiatives
• Makes recommendations and participates in the process of hiring, transfers, personnel actions and terminations
• Monitors all facilities and programs associated with the manager, assuring that their operation meets all regulatory requirements
• Manages all contracts, grants and service agreements, fulfilling any internal or external reporting requirements
Knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of behavioral health
• Advanced knowledge of substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorders
• Knowledge of medical terminology appropriate for clinical program
• Knowledge of client/patient rights and responsibilities
• Knowledge of current best practices and evidence-based practices for service areas
• Must meet all population-specific competencies for role and service areas
• Understanding of Joint Commission, Division of Mental Health and Addiction, and other regulatory requirements
• Inpatient Services Only: Must demonstrate competence to participate in interdisciplinary formulation of individual care plans and to direct, monitor, and evaluate the provision of nursing care

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center's primary mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness and chronic addiction as well as seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families.
