Lead HVRP-Veteran Employment Specialist

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $47K to $55K

REPORTS TO: Director of HVRP

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The HVRP-Lead Veteran Employment Specialist (LVES) provides leadership and support to the team of Employment Specialists, while also directly working with clients seeking employment.

This role will focus on training, monitoring team performance, as well as providing hands-on job development, coaching, and placement support to individuals.

They will also build relationships with employers and stakeholders to create job opportunities and ensure program success.

Preference will be given to individuals with a background in homeless services and to honorably discharged veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

· Team Leadership:.

Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to Employment Specialists, monitoring their performance, and ensuring quality standards are met.

· Client Support:

Assist individuals in developing job search plans, identifying their strengths and skills, and providing job coaching and support after placement.

· Job Development:.

Build relationships with employers, identifying job opportunities, and facilitating job trials and assessments.

· Program Management:.

Coordinate team meetings, tracking progress, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring program compliance.

· Stakeholder Engagement:.

Foster relationships with employers, community partners, and other stakeholders to promote inclusive employment practices.

Common Qualifications:

· Experience:

2 years of experience in social services or a related field, with 2 or more years experience in job development, recruitment, or counseling.

· Education:

A bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., social work, psychology, vocational rehabilitation) is preferred, or an associate's degree or 4 years of relevant experience.

· Skills:

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are essential.

· Other:

A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and experience with relevant software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).

Pay: $47, $55,000.00 per year
