What you'll do
As Giga's Procurement Manager, you'll take ownership of our global sourcing and supplier management strategy. You'll play a critical role in ensuring that the materials, equipment, and services we rely on are procured at the right quality, cost, and lead time to keep our fast-growing operations running smoothly. From negotiating supplier contracts to building resilient supply chains, you'll work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and logistics to fuel our manufacturing scale-up. Where you'll work
This role will be based in our Houston offices. You must be willing to work in the office full-time, outside of our bi-weekly WFH Fridays.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute procurement strategies to support Giga's manufacturing and operational needs.
- Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers across categories including electrical components, steel, mechanical systems, and contract manufacturing.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality and reliability.
- Partner with engineering and operations teams to forecast demand and align procurement activities with production schedules.
- Manage supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality metrics, and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain a strong supplier base, including secondary sourcing to reduce risk.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, trade regulations, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Track and analyze procurement KPIs to drive continuous improvement in cost, lead time, and quality.
- Implement procurement systems, tools, and processes that scale with the business.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of negotiating supplier contracts and managing vendor relationships.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, cost analysis, and sourcing strategies.
- Experience working with manufacturing or industrial supply chains.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in procurement or ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field.
Bonus points
- Experience in electrical equipment, heavy manufacturing, or modular infrastructure industries.
- Global sourcing experience, particularly in Asia or Latin America.
- Background in scaling procurement operations in a high-growth startup.
- Supply chain certifications (e.g., CPSM, CSCP).
- Mandarin, Spanish, or other language skills to support international supplier relationships.
