Responsibilities

  • Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy education, math, and curriculum development.
  • Support children with special needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring an inclusive classroom environment.
  • Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development and early learning skills.
  • Help manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management techniques.
  • Support classroom organization, including setting up materials and maintaining a clean learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group assistance to students requiring additional help with literacy, math, or other subjects.
  • Foster positive relationships with children to encourage social interaction and emotional growth.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and needs.
  • Assist with childcare duties during daycare or preschool activities, including toddler care when needed.
  • Support the implementation of Montessori or other specialized curricula as applicable.

Requirements

  • Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience working with students with disabilities or special needs is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
  • Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment supporting early childhood education initiatives such as daycare or private school programs.
  • Experience working with children on the autism spectrum or those requiring specialized support is a plus.
  • Certification or coursework in early childhood education, special education, Montessori methods, or related fields is beneficial but not required. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children's lives while developing professional skills in education and child development within a supportive environment.
