Description

Job Summary:

A Women Services Tech I is responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient.

The Women Services Tech I must be familiar with operative procedures, obstetrical procedures, post-operative obstetrical care, and phlebotomy skills.

Education:

Required:

  • High School education or equivalent.

Experience:

Required:

  • N/A

Preferred:

  • Hospital experience preferred

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:

  • Must maintain certification as a surgical technologist from a national certifying body recognized by the health facilities commission; or obtains such certification no later than eighteen (18) months after completion of a surgical technology program. Or, have documented evidence of surgical technology training through the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, or U.S. Public Health Service in lieu of certification; or qualify as recognized by the State of TN.
  • BLS completed prior to going to the unit/ department and maintained going forward

Preferred:

  • CNA certification, EMT licensure, First Responder, MA certification
  • De-escalation training

Department Position Summary:

  • A non-licensed healthcare provider employed by Erlanger Medical Center responsible for direct and/or indirect care. (A registered or licensed practical nurse may apply and work in a PCT position, but must function within the guidelines, skills, and pay grade outlined for the PCT.

  • The PCTII (Women�s Services Tech) in the L&D Unit must be familiar with operative, obstetrical procedures, post-operative obstetrical care, and phlebotomy, and IV skills.
