Join a dynamic team at Duke University where your work contributes to groundbreaking research in global health. As a Research Project Planner I, you will play a pivotal role in managing the NIH-funded Ghana Migrant Health Study, ensuring excellence in project execution and stakeholder engagement.
 
What You'll Do:
Project Planning & Coordination (20%)
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones.
  • Coordinate schedules and resources across research teams and partners.
  • Apply project management tools to ensure quality and timely outcomes.
Proposal and Protocol Development (5%)
  • Collaborate on RPPRs, study materials, and documentation.
  • Design and review survey instruments and consent forms.
  • Ensure compliance with IRB and data security standards.
Fieldwork and Data Operations Oversight (30%)
  • Lead baseline survey implementation for Ghanaian immigrants in the U.S.
  • Train and supervise field teams; monitor performance and data quality.
  • Resolve technical and procedural challenges in real time.
Budget and Resource Management (10%)
  • Manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Track expenditures and prepare financial reports.
  • Coordinate with finance offices on contracts and invoicing.
Communication and Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
  • Maintain communication plans across institutions.
  • Prepare reports and presentations to summarize progress.
  • Serve as liaison for internal and external stakeholders.
Risk and Issue Management (5%)
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Maintain issue logs and change control processes.
Research Support and Dissemination (10%)
  • Prepare materials for publication and presentations.
  • Contribute to policy briefs and outreach content.
Team and Process Development (5%)
  • Establish workflows and communication standards.
  • Lead debriefs and process improvement initiatives.
Event and Participant Coordination (5%)
  • Organize logistics for trainings and workshops.
  • Manage participant engagement and communications.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required. Additional training in project management preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of progressive project management experience.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • Strong organizational and analytical abilities
    • Multicultural competency
    • Proficiency in project management and data tools (e.g., Asana, Smartsheet, R, Stata)
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
 
Compensation and Benefits
Annual salary range: USD $61,698.00 to USD $100,480.00, based on experience and qualifications.
