At Intellectus Prep, our Food Service Worker will provide our scholars with nutritious food for breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Applicants must enjoy working in a school setting and provide a positive and uplifting meal experience.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Serve students with a positive attitude.
  • Utilizing commercial kitchen equipment in the preparation of menu items.
  • Monitoring food at serving areas for fresh appearance and proper holding temperatures.
  • Serving food on the service line.
  • Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic.
  • Washing utensils and dishes and making sure they are stored appropriately.
  • Cleaning the food service area during and after service.
  • Sorting and storing ingredients.
  • Sweeping and mopping the cafeteria.
  • Removal of all garbage at the end of food service.
  • Follow safe and sanitary food handling procedures.
  • Adhere to food safety standards regarding food contamination.
  • Accept daily deliveries

Desired Qualifications:

  • Must be a team player with a positive and upbeat attitude.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must feel comfortable standing for long periods of time.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • HS Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous food service experience is strongly preferred.
  • Sensitivity to confidentiality.
  • Ability to walk or stand for long periods of time.
  • Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and cleaning.
  • Minimum one-year experience as a food service worker preferred

Salary and Benefits:

Intellectus Prep offers a competitive salary. Aside from extensive professional development, all our staff members are equipped with a laptop computer, email, high-speed internet access, and all necessary instructional supplies where applicable.

Schedule:

  • Year-round position with general day hours 7:00am-2:30pm with a 1-hour paid lunch.
  • After-hours and weekend events will be required and communicated in advance.
