Building Engineer
JOB SUMMARY: The Building Engineer is a hands-on, solutions-focused professional responsible for maintaining the operations, safety, and efficiency of our facilities. This role requires advanced trade skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and other building systems. The Building Engineer will work under limited supervision while ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and a best-in-class experience for tenants and partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspect and maintain building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, ensuring all equipment operates within design capabilities.
· Oversee and inspect contracted work (HVAC, plumbing, remodeling, life safety, etc.).
· Perform preventive maintenance.
· Troubleshoot and repair systems.
· Complete assigned repairs, emergency response, and preventive maintenance tasks, documenting all work performed.
· Review and prioritize work orders, estimating required time and materials.
· Order and track necessary materials and supplies.
· Repair and maintain lighting systems, ballasts, and related components.
· Perform small repairs such as drywall, ceiling tiles, painting, furniture assembly, and locksmith tasks.
· Customer Service - prompt response to emergency situations, coordinating assistance as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned
- PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:Minimum of high school diploma and 3 – 5 years of experience in property maintenance and / or trade school training. Universal CFC certification, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls and mechanical power transmissions. Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions and write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables. Utilize basic PC-based business software, including Microsoft products and systems tools for maintaining services records. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle details with few errors.
