Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer supports new product development and product sustaining tasks by providing strong technical expertise and project leadership in the design, development, and release of mechanical systems for High Density Liquid Cooling products. This role also acts as a bridge between cross-functional teams such as marketing, product management, electrical engineering, manufacturing, and quality to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
A successful candidate will bring a solid foundation in mechanical product development, demonstrated project leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of the NPDI process, CAD tools (preferably PTC Creo), and PLM systems. Familiarity with low-voltage electrical systems and thermal design concepts is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Lead mechanical engineering activities for New Product Development projects, from concept through production launch.
- Provide technical direction for component and system-level design, validation, and integration across cross-functional teams.
- Develop and manage 3D models, 2D drawings, and product documentation using PTC Creo and PLM tools.
- Coordinate BoM creation, product release activities, and Engineering Change Orders using PLM tools.
- Collaborate with electrical engineering and thermal teams to ensure effective integration of subsystems, including low-voltage components.
- Support lab validation, root cause analysis, and resolution of product issues across prototype and production phases.
- Contribute to cost reduction, quality improvement, and manufacturability enhancement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of mechanical product development experience, preferably in Low Voltage HVAC, thermal systems, or related industries.
- Proven experience leading or driving cross-functional product development efforts.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools (PTC Creo preferred), including familiarity with documentation and Model Based Definition (MBD).
- Working knowledge of NPDI or Stage Gate product development processes.
- Experience with PLM systems (PD Cloud, Agile, Windchill, or equivalent).
- Sheet metal design experience and understanding of design for DFM principles.
- Preferred: Familiarity with thermal design considerations and low-voltage electrical component integration.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills; ability to manage tasks across global teams.
- Fluent in English; ability to travel as needed.
