Our client is seeking a
Project Procurement Specialist/Manager
in the Las Vegas area to oversee sourcing and procurement activities for large capital projects. This role is responsible for managing materials, equipment, and services, as well as providing oversight to EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) contractors and project suppliers. The primary focus is ensuring internal stakeholders' technical and commercial expectations are met, project schedules are maintained, and supply chain bottlenecks are resolved efficiently. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in procurement concepts, practices, and procedures, with the judgment and experience to manage multiple priorities across complex projects. The position requires creativity, initiative, and the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with engineering, construction, and project management teams to forecast procurement needs and align sourcing with project timelines.
  • Provide oversight to EPC partners in supply chain practices including sourcing supplies, RFP/RFQ processes, bid analysis, negotiation, and expediting to maximize value from expenditures. Continuously review EPC performance and explore new practices and methods to improve service value.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, safety regulations, and project-specific requirements.
  • Review and enforce contractual flow-down provisions from EPC partners, ensuring alignment with company policies and customer requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal supply chain teams to ensure sourcing activities meet company procedures, industry standards, and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors; monitor performance and address issues impacting quality or delivery commitments.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and legal professionals to ensure contractual terms minimize risk to the company.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, new products, supply sources, and emerging technologies relevant to assigned commodities to enhance procurement value.
  • Utilize total life cycle cost analysis or other commercial assessment tools to support company initiatives and continuous improvement.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for
    Project Procurement Specialist
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience for
    Project Procurement Manager
  • Several years of experience in an
    EPC environment
    and/or construction or industrial engineering sectors

Preferred Education/Certification/Licensure/Experience

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or related field
  • CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with extensive experience using SAP, Excel, Microsoft Office, sourcing tools, or similar systems
