Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Physicist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, accuracy, and effectiveness of medical imaging and radiation therapy procedures. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. The Medical Physicist will collaborate closely with radiologists, oncologists, and technical staff to optimize patient care through precise calibration, quality assurance, and safety protocols.

Duties

  • Conduct routine quality assurance and calibration of medical imaging equipment including CT scanners, mammography units, and radiation therapy devices.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for radiation protection.
  • Perform dose calculations and treatment planning support for radiation therapy procedures.
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend maintenance or upgrades as needed.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to optimize imaging protocols tailored to specific patient needs.
  • Provide training and guidance on the safe operation of imaging and radiation therapy equipment.
  • Review medical images for quality control purposes, ensuring accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of calibration procedures, safety checks, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Medical Physics or related field; certification by recognized professional bodies preferred.
  • Experience with CT imaging, mammography, radiation therapy, and medical imaging technology.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures.
  • Critical care experience or acute care background is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging modalities including CT scans and general radiology practices.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in calibration and safety assessments.
  • Ability to interpret complex medical data accurately and communicate findings effectively.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety standards and regulatory compliance requirements. This position is integral to delivering safe, effective patient care through advanced medical physics practices in a professional healthcare setting.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $ $140.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
