Responsibilities

  • Assist with menu planning and food preparation to ensure timely and appealing meals.
  • Prepare ingredients using proper knife skills and cooking techniques, maintaining high standards of food handling and safety.
  • Support the dietary department by helping with meal assembly, portion control, and presentation.
  • Serve food to guests or residents with professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, adhering strictly to food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate catering events or special dining occasions.
  • Follow all food industry guidelines for hygiene, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.

Experience

  • Previous dietary department experience or dietary aide experience is highly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in food service, restaurant settings, or culinary environments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques is essential.
  • Strong knife skills and proficiency in food handling are required to ensure quality and safety.
  • Experience in fine dining or catering environments will be considered a plus.
  • Knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards is necessary for success in this role.
  • Prior kitchen experience within the food industry or restaurant setting will support your ability to excel.
