Your Role
As a key player of our R&D team, you will lead the charge in turning customer visions into realities. You'll be involved in everything from conceptualizing and building prototypes to refining them into manufacturable products. The journey you embark on will include creating robust product specifications, risk management documentation, and close collaboration with our Design Assurance and Process Development teams.

With Nextern, you will not just be solving problems; you will be crafting solutions that can impact patient care and operational efficiencies in the healthcare industry

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead new product development initiatives with enthusiasm, aligning them with customer expectations and Nextern's mission.
  • Transform customer requirements into manufacturable designs while maintaining quality and compliance.
  • Construct and evaluate prototypes to ensure they meet specifications and address feasibility.
  • Work alongside our talented CAD designers to create detailed drawings and BOM structures.
  • Engage in risk management discussions, ensuring proactive approaches to device safety.
  • Develop comprehensive testing plans and support pilot builds, ensuring each step adheres to our commitment to quality.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain on sourcing and material procurement to streamline production processes.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and share your insights to elevate overall project outcomes.

Requirements
What We're Looking For:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10-15 years of hands-on experience and a desire to innovate.
  • A dedication to excellence and a keen understanding of engineering principles.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills—let's hear your ideas loud and clear
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

Salary Range for This Position: $120,000 - $150,000.
