Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in geotechnical engineering principles and practices. This role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions for various projects, including infrastructure, construction, and environmental assessments.
The role of a Geotechnical Engineer with AGEC is focused on helping our clients successfully execute on their project needs. As a result, the Geotechnical Engineer will spend of of their time at the project location. If you enjoy being outdoors, solving complex problems and helping your customers succeed, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Contributes to the development of engineering plans and designs.
- Investigates and analyzes new materials, equipment, and engineering practices.
- Prepares engineering calculations, estimates, statistics, and minor designs.
- Estimates costs for projects.
- Analyzes quotes and bids.
- Performs equipment and materials test studies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software to maintain accurate records.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required (Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred)
- Two years of related experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel to various project sites.
- Must be able to access and navigate job sites and construction areas.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day, traverse various types of terrain, climb ladders and stairs.
