Role Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly creative
Senior Interior Designer
to lead and deliver exceptional Hospitality and Lifestyle projects from concept through completion.

This role is ideal for a designer with
8+ years of experience
in hospitality, hotel, and restaurant interiors who combines design leadership with strong technical and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Leadership

  • Lead design projects from concept to completion, ensuring creative excellence and alignment with client expectations.
  • Provide design direction and oversee concept development, space planning, and presentation deliverables.
  • Mentor and supervise intermediate and junior designers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing studio culture.
  • Present design concepts and materials confidently to clients, consultants, and contractors.

Design Development & Documentation

  • Develop and coordinate detailed design documentation including drawings, specifications, and material schedules.
  • Oversee FF&E design, selection, and coordination, including custom furniture and lighting.
  • Review and redline design packages to ensure accuracy and alignment with design intent.
  • Ensure all documentation meets building code and project requirements.

Project Management & Coordination

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining oversight of budgets, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to ensure smooth execution and timely delivery.
  • Conduct site visits, perform construction administration tasks, and resolve design challenges as they arise.
  • Monitor project scope, hours, and profitability, and assist in preparing fee proposals when required.

Studio & Business Development

  • Contribute to studio-wide initiatives that promote design innovation, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Represent the design studio professionally at client presentations and industry events.
  • Support new business efforts and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8+ years' experience
    in Interior Design, ideally within the
    hospitality, hotel, or restaurant sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree
    in Interior Design or Architecture (advanced degrees or certifications are a plus).
  • Proven experience leading projects from concept through completion.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to guide and inspire design teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in
    AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), SketchUp
    , and
    Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Strong technical expertise in
    FF&E, joinery, detailing, and construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with
    U.S. building codes
    and design standards.
  • NCIDQ certification, LEED accreditation, or architectural license
    are advantageous.
