Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Support clients with memory care needs, including those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
  • Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Skills

  • First aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Experience in group homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities is highly desirable.
  • Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health or behavior.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
  • Proficient in patient monitoring techniques and vital sign assessment.
  • Familiarity with meal preparation and cooking for dietary needs.
  • Understanding of care plans and medication administration protocols.
