In this role as a Advance Manufacturing Engineer II within the AME team, you will play a critical role in advancing existing technologies and introducing innovative manufacturing processes. Partnering closely with R&D, Operations, Sourcing, Quality and Global Manufacturing teams, you will lead strategic process development initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring robust process controls, readiness for high-volume manufacturing, and full regulatory compliance.
As a Advance Manufacturing Engineer II, you will provide engineering support to New Product Introduction team with an emphasis in semi-automation, manual assembly process development to support new product development. You will design and develop all facets of manufacturing production line such as layout, equipment specification/design/procurement, work instruction generation, capacity analysis, process capability, risk assessment .
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Design, fabrication, procurement, and installation of manufacturing equipment.
- Characterization of manufacturing process steps with emphasis on Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize sampling, data collection, and analysis
- Ensure manufacturing processes have adequately demonstrated specified process capabilities through being the Champion for PFMEA, Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA), and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Conduct, coordinate and aid in formal Process Validations/Qualifications including protocol development and execution. Manage technical aspects of new product process development to manufacturing partners.
- Voice of operation feedback from internal customers to ensure stakeholder needs are balanced with business needs, all while maintaining strict adherence to quality.
- Approve and manage design changes and process changes for adherence to Medtronic requirements.
- Ability to work independently, communicate effectively with team members and management.
- Ensures adherence to product specifications, industry standards, and quality and regulatory procedures and requirements. Ensure personal understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
- Construction of production routers and associated parameters to support production launch
- Provide professional and technical guidance to junior and mid-level engineers
- All other duties as assigned.

- This is an onsite position in located in Jacksonville, FL.

Must Have (Minimum Requirements)

- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- OR Master's degree with minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
Nice to Have (Preferred Qualifications)
- Ability to lead, work and communicate effectively. Exercises good judgment when communicating to all levels in the business organization.
- Experience with and understanding of Automation / manual Assembly, all kind of welding technologies, solvent bonding, crimping, 3D modeling/printing, Micro-Machining, Molding.
- Knowledge with Six Sigma, DRM and Lean Manufacturing.
- Knowledge with Design Verification and Validation activities
- Effective interaction with personnel at diverse positions within and outside of the organization.
- Value other's ideas and experience working in a team environment.
- Able to work well with a diverse group of people both within the organization as well as with people outside the company.
- Project Management experience or training. Work well under pressure, organized and able to attain results on several projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and experience applying these skills to resolve technical problems in a manufacturing environment employing tools such as DMAIC thinking and Root Cause Analysis.
- Well-informed and current on manufacturing methods and equipment.
- A thorough understanding of the product development process and its needs
- Solid problem solving and analytical skills. Ability to define problems, gather data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$81, $122,400.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
