Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting licensed physical therapists in delivering high-quality patient care across various clinical settings. Prior hospital ofHome health experience highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Duties

  • Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Support patients during therapy sessions, ensuring proper technique and safety measures are followed.
  • Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any concerns or significant changes to the supervising therapist.
  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for therapy sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises, mobility aids, and other therapeutic activities to promote recovery outside of clinical sessions.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and other relevant documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans.

Skills

  • Knowledge of physical therapy: Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology is essential to provide safe and effective care.
  • Therapeutic exercises: Ability to guide and assist patients with exercises to improve their strength, mobility, and balance.
  • Manual skills: Proficiency in skills like applying dressings, performing tissue palpation, and manual patient testing.
  • Equipment proficiency: Familiarity with and the ability to safely operate various equipment used in physical therapy.
  • Documentation: Accurate and timely documentation of patient progress for the supervising physical therapist.
  • Infection control: Knowledge of and adherence to infection control standards to ensure patient and home safety.

Qualification

  1. A person who is licensed, registered, or certified as a Physical Therapist Assistant, if applicable, by the state of Florida, unless licensure does not apply and meets one of the following requirements:

Graduated from a Physical Therapist Assistant curriculum, approved by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association; or, if educated outside the United States, or trained in the United States military, graduated from an education program, determined to be substantially equivalent to Physical Therapist Assistant entry-level education in the United States, by a credentials evaluation organization approved by the American Physical Therapy Association or identified at 8 CFR e); and

  3. Passed a national examination for Physical Therapist Assistants

  4. Must be licensed by the State of Florida as a Physical Therapy Assistant.

  5. Must have a criminal background check.

  6. Must have current CPR certification. Online certification is not accepted

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN

Pay: $ $46.51 per hour
