Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aid to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals requiring assistance with daily activities. Duties

  • Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
  • Monitor patient health by taking vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; report any irregularities promptly
  • Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks and infection control procedures
  • Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's personal assistive devices to ensure safe transfers and mobility support
  • Observe and document changes in residents' conditions or behaviors, especially in cases involving dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or autism spectrum disorders
  • Follow detailed care plans created by healthcare professionals to deliver consistent and personalized care
  • Assist with light housekeeping duties to promote a comfortable living space for residents or clients
  • Support residents' social engagement by encouraging participation in activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols including CPR, first aid procedures, and HIPAA privacy standards during patient interactions
  • Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care delivery

Skills

  • Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health care, or group homes is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately
  • Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and cleaning protocols to maintain a hygienic environment
  • Ability to follow detailed care plans precisely while demonstrating compassion and patience
  • Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are preferred but can be obtained upon hire if not already held
  • Experience working within HIPAA guidelines ensuring confidentiality of patient information
  • Capacity for working independently as well as part of a team in fast-paced settings
