*$1,000 Sign-on Bonus and $100 Gas Card incentive*
Job Purpose:
The Young Adult Empowerment Specialist (YES Program) will support the development and implementation of the Molina Cares-funded Young-Adult Empowerment Support (YES) Program is a pilot program designed to empower 20–25 adults aged 22–34 in the Merrimack Valley. The specialist will provide individualized support through needs assessments, skill-building, and mentorship focused on employment, transportation, and daily living skills. The position requires a passion for community empowerment, creative problem-solving, and a commitment to the Independent Living philosophy.
Please note: This position is supported by time-limited grant funding and is expected to last one year. Continued employment beyond that period is dependent on additional funding.
*Compensation commensurate with education and experience*
Duties & Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments and assist participants in setting individualized goals.
- Deliver one-on-one and group training in the areas of vocational skills, independent living, and transportation.
- Provide support with resume development, job search, and interview preparation.
- Facilitate transportation training including navigating public transit, ridesharing, and travel safety.
- Lead workshops on daily living skills such as budgeting, cooking, and self-advocacy.
- Track participant progress through each program phase: Assessment and Goal Setting, Skill-Building, and Transition and Follow-Up
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in program databases and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with community partners, local employers, and vocational rehabilitation agencies.
- Coordinate accessibility accommodations including interpreters, large-print materials, and transportation stipends.
- Assist in developing program reports, success stories, and outcome data for grant evaluation.
- Attend outreach events, meetings, and community activities to promote the program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Job Specifications:
- Bachelor's degree in human services, education, rehabilitation, or a related field preferred; or at least two years' experience providing direct service in human services. Equivalent combination of education, professional and/or lived experience will be considered.
- Experience working with people with disabilities, or individuals seeking independent living and employment skills strongly preferred.
Preference given to qualified candidates who self-identify as an individual with a disability, in accordance with our mission and federal CIL requirements
Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in team-based organization
- Ability to demonstrate reliability, accountability, and consistent follow-through on participant needs
- Knowledge of community resources preferred.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to travel independently required
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred.
