Job Title: Armed Overnight Residential Security Officer

Position Summary:

The Armed Overnight Residential Security Officer is responsible for providing high-level, seven-night-a-week protection for a private family residing in an exclusive residential community. The primary duty is to ensure the complete security and safety of the family, their guests, and all associated residential property and assets during the overnight hours. The officer will act as the first line of defense against potential threats by maintaining a vigilant presence, controlling access, conducting regular patrols, and responding to all security-related incidents.

Work Schedule for Post:

• 7 days per week (4 shifts officer #1 & 3 shifts officer #2)
• Overnight shifts: 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
• Basic Guard Uniform as to deter any outside threat

Key Responsibilities:

Access Control and Deterrence:

• Observe & Report: Control access to the residence at designated entry points, verifying identity of all individuals and vehicles attempting to approach residential property line.
• Visitor Management: Monitor and log the arrival and departure of any visitors or delivery personnel.
• Presence and Vigilance: Provide a visible armed and watchful presence to deter unauthorized entry, theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity.

Patrolling and Surveillance:

• Regular Patrols: Conduct systematic and random foot and vehicle patrols of the residential property and perimeter to check for security vulnerabilities, hazards, or suspicious activity.
• Electronic Monitoring: Diligently monitor all closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, surveillance feeds, and alarm systems, reporting and investigating any unusual activity.
• System Integrity: Routinely check the integrity of physical security systems, including gates, doors, windows, and perimeter fences.

Incident and Emergency Response:

• First Responder: Serve as the immediate first responder to all security alarms, disturbances, or emergency calls, including fire, medical, and security breaches.
• Threat Assessment: Rapidly assess and respond to threats using approved protocols, including the appropriate and legal use of a firearm when necessary.
• Coordination with Authorities: Coordinate effectively with local law enforcement, fire departments, and other emergency services as needed.
• Conflict Resolution: Utilize de-escalation techniques and interpersonal skills to manage tense or confrontational situations calmly and professionally.

Reporting and Communication:

• Incident Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate logs and incident reports of all security-related activities, observations, and responses during the shift.
• Daily Log: Prepare and submit a daily report outlining all activities, events, and a general overview of the shift.
• Communication with Principal: Maintain clear, concise, and professional communication with the private family's designated point of contact regarding security matters.

General Duties:

• Confidentiality: Uphold the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality regarding the private family and all related matters.
• Maintenance of Professionalism: Maintain a high level of physical fitness, professional appearance, and demeanor at all times.
• Safe Handling of Weapons: Ensure proper care, maintenance, and secure handling of all assigned weapons, with mandatory compliance with all state and local laws.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience in high-end residential security, executive protection, or a related field in law enforcement or military is highly preferred.
• Licensing and Certification: Possess a valid state armed security guard license and any required firearms certifications.
• Background: Must pass an extensive criminal background check and drug screening.
• Skills:
• Exceptional situational awareness and observational skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound, rapid decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service mindset.
• Proficiency in operating surveillance systems and security technology.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification is often required.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
