Overview:

Avondale Veterinary Hospital located in Decatur, GA is looking to add veterinary professionals to our growing team

Needing one expereinced veterinary technician.

Duties:

  • Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals

  • Perform various laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis

  • Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians

  • Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures

  • Take radiographs (x-rays)

  • Prepare animals for surgery, including cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments

  • Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery progress

  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care, including medication administration and nutrition

  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patients

  • Clean and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and equipment

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of animal care practices and protocols

  • Experience working in a laboratory setting, performing tests and analyzing results

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to handle animals with care and compassion

  • Understanding of animal physiology and behavior

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is preferable

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
