Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide mission focused Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support to government clients. 

Position Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with customers to develop and implement systems by generating Concepts of Operations, defining requirements, and providing technical oversight throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with mission objectives and timelines.
  • Oversee prime contractors development and ensure systems meet customer requirements, risk tolerance, budget, and schedule, while assessing technical solutions and recommending Courses of Action (COAs).
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including hardware and software, to ensure system integration and mission success. Foster communication and alignment among team members to identify challenges and corresponding solutions.
  • Evaluate prime contractor performance at milestone reviews by analyzing compliance with technical requirements, and quality of deliverables. Offer recommendations to enhance project outcomes and likelihood of success.
  • Identify and manage risks throughout the systems engineering lifecycle by conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and monitoring potential impacts on mission objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proactive risk management and enhance overall mission success.
  • Review test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with requirements,  and witness formal testing events to verify that all requirements are met and effectively integrated into the system.
Qualifications

5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD

TS/SCI w/ Poly

Space systems engineering experience (requirements development and management, organization and holding of design gate/milestone reviews, overseeing developer during system integration and test, risk identification, tracking, and mitigation)

Background in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering desired.

Target Salary Range$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
