Job Description
The Sterile Processing Supervisor coordinates, supervises and participates in daily activities of Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities
Coordinates and participates in assembling, packaging, sterilization functions

Prepares work schedule to ensure adequate staffing levels, makes appropriate changes in work assignments to ensure all tasks are completed

Oversees and participates in the safe operation of all decontamination/sterilizing equipment, packing according to policy/procedure

Informs on-coming shift coordinator and staff of incomplete work and other pertinent information

Trains and instructs new employees, reviews changes of policies/procedures, instructs staff as to proper work flow and assists in competency testing

Handles minor employee relations issues in accordance with Centra policies/procedures (attendance, work processes, Pledge to Colleagues, etc.)

Completes employee evaluations and provides realistic action plans for performance improvement

Develops and implements in-service activities, required training and performance improvement activities

Monitors and inspects supplies, instruments and equipment for bioburden and event related occurrences

Acts as a resource to on-site and off-site patient care providers for dispensing supplies and equipment

Suggest and actively participates in process improvement projects

May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time

Qualifications
Required Education: High School Diploma / GED

Preferred Education
Required Experience: Two (2) years of Central Service/Sterile Processing experience. Computer skills. Good communication, interpersonal, and conflict management skills

Preferred Experience: Supervisor experience

Required Certifications and Licensures: Certified Central Service Technician or must obtain certification within eighteen (18) months of hire date

Preferred Certifications and Licensures: Certified HealthCare Leadership
