Position Overview:

We are hiring a Controls Lead to oversee and execute high-level controls and electrical work inside distribution centers, where we are upgrading controls panels from manual to automated systems. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring extensive electrical experience and at least 5 years of PLC controls experience.

The Controls Lead will be responsible for wiring and troubleshooting control panels, labeling and documenting, and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the field team. You will ensure all work is completed to spec, on time, and aligned with project deliverables. This person sets the tone for quality and efficiency across the controls team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for the controls/electrical crew
  • Troubleshoot, wire, and label control panels and field devices
  • Ensure accuracy in all PLC control wiring and labeling
  • Communicate daily goals, progress, and needs to project managers and team members
  • Coordinate materials, tools, and scheduling to meet deadlines
  • Track and log time daily for accurate reporting
  • Ensure that the team is aligned with job expectations and timelines
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized job site
  • Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for field issues
  • Collaborate with both high-voltage and low-voltage team members on-site

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on PLC controls experience (wiring, troubleshooting, layout)
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and control drawings
  • Proven experience leading field crews or installation teams
  • Must be highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel and stay on-site during project durations
  • Comfortable managing both schedule and technical deliverables
