About the Role:

V-1 Consulting is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to join our Civil & Facilities Infrastructure Team. This role focuses on managing all aspects of complex infrastructure transitions, including scope areas like runway/pavement rehabilitation and terminal modernization, ensuring project intent is delivered through successful completion. A proven track record in program management, particularly with demonstrated expertise in managing civil, electrical, or facilities scopes within a fast-paced construction environment, is essential for ensuring smooth and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Lifecycle Management

  • Own the full project lifecycle, leading projects from inception through to successful completion, ensuring all scope, objectives, and deliverables are met on time.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain core project components, including defining project scope, creating detailed schedules, and establishing the overall project plan.
  • Manage quality assurance by verifying project deliverables against established standards and project requirements.
  • Oversee procurement and contract management, which includes setting up necessary project resources and managing vendor contracts.
  • Monitor project performance and execute the Change Management process to document, justify, and control any necessary changes to scope, schedule, or budget.

Team and Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate project teams, assigning clear roles and responsibilities to ensure maximum team performance.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to lower-level project managers to aid in their professional development.
  • Manage all Stakeholder Communication and Expectations, providing timely, clear, and comprehensive project status reports and progress updates.
  • Successfully lead large and complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and navigate situations with conflicting opinions to achieve consensus and project alignment.
  • Preferred experience with aviation stakeholder coordination such as Airlines, Terminal Operations, Airline Operations, Planning and Maintenance.

Financial and Risk Oversight

  • Create, manage, and monitor detailed project budgets, justifying all project expenses using established financial and change management processes.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to prevent negative impacts on project timeline or budget.
  • May be responsible for leading multiple projects concurrently and/or managing technically complex projects.

Required Qualifications

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Architecture.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of utility-scale construction projects, including feasibility, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles.
  • Comprehensive understanding and application of project management principles, including the ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
  • Experience with underground utility design and/or construction.
  • Experience with roadway or airfield pavement design and/or construction.

Technical Skills

  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions.
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project).
  • Knowledge of and experience using various Contract Management Platforms and Primavera (P6) software is a plus.
  • Reviewing and facilitating RFIs, Submittals, Change Orders and Stakeholder Requests.

  • Strong leadership and management skills, including effective conflict management and influencing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and stakeholder interactions.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal or no direct supervision in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Exhibit a strong sense of initiative, demonstrating a desire to take on new opportunities and quickly pivot to new information or processes.

Desirable Certifications

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate is highly desirable.
