Job Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to company recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines. This position requires the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks at once, and maintain consistency during busy service periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Work efficiently on the line during high-volume service periods
- Ability to multitask while maintaining food quality, accuracy, and speed
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations
- Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies and ingredients
- Monitor food temperatures and portion sizes
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members and management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times
- Assist with food prep, cleaning, and closing duties as assigned
- Properly use kitchen equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong multitasking skills and ability to prioritize tasks under pressure
- Attention to detail and consistency in food preparation
- Ability to follow instructions, recipes, and kitchen procedures
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs (if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
- Previous line cook or kitchen experience
- Experience in restaurant, deli, cafeteria, or food service operations
- Knowledge of basic knife skills and kitchen equipment
Work Environment
- Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, noise, and cooking equipment
- Standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motions throughout the shift
