We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Carpenter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and construction, demonstrating leadership abilities while overseeing projects from inception to completion. This role requires a hands-on approach, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and adherence to safety standards. The Lead Carpenter will work closely with other tradespeople and project managers to deliver exceptional results on time.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate carpentry projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently and to specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Perform various construction tasks including frame carpentry, finish carpentry, exterior finishing, drywall hang and finishing, painting, tile installation and cabinet installation.
  • Train and mentor junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and safety protocols.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, subcontractors, and clients regarding project progress and any issues that arise.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a carpenter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Skilled in various carpentry techniques including frame carpentry, finish carpentry, thermal & moisture installation, door & window installation, and finishing.
  • Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  • Good physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks associated with carpentry work.
  • Specific Carpentry experience: Framing Carpentry Floors, walls and roofs. Finish Carpentry. Run base and casement trim Exterior Siding /soffit and fascia installation. Install doors and windows, Drywall hang and finish Painting. Tiling floors and walls Flooring hardwood, LVP. Cabinet installation.
  • Must be able simultaneously supervise and perform production work. Getting along with other workers is the key to success.
