Role overview

As a CNC Lathe Setup Machinist in Bedford Park, IL, you'll thrive in a true job-shop environment producing precision components for the rubber roller industry. This full-time position (40 hours per week, with overtime as needed) places you at the center of our turning operations—setting up, operating, and continuously improving processes as our programming capabilities expand.

A day in the life
  • Review travelers and blueprints, plan setups, and select tooling and workholding.
  • Set up and run CNC lathes (2–4 axis) using Fanuc controls and G-code.
  • Dial in speeds and feeds, machine first articles, and verify dimensions to tight tolerances.
  • Troubleshoot issues in-machine or in the program; make real-time adjustments.
  • Keep accurate daily documentation while maintaining a clean, organized work area.
  • Support other machines as needed and collaborate with a team that values initiative.
What you bring
  • 3+ years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience; exposure to additional equipment is a plus.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Fanuc controls and G-code.
  • Strong measurement skills using calipers, indicators, and related metrology tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • On-machine programming experience preferred.
  • Self-starter attitude in a fast-paced, team-driven environment.
