Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Senior Medical Biller to join our practice. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of medical billing processes, coding systems, and regulations. As a Senior Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of billing operations while maintaining compliance with industry standards. Your expertise will contribute to the financial health of our organization and the satisfaction of our patients.

Duties

  • Review and process medical claims using appropriate coding systems including, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD-10.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and government payers while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough audits of medical records to verify the accuracy of coding and billing information.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve discrepancies in billing, ensuring prompt payment for services rendered.
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to maintain up-to-date patient information and billing records.
  • Manage medical collections by following up on outstanding claims and addressing any issues that may arise during the collection process.
  • Stay informed about changes in medical billing regulations, coding updates, and payer policies to ensure compliance.
  • Foster a positive working environment by mentoring junior staff members in best practices for medical billing and coding.

Experience

  • Proven experience in medical billing with a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding practices, and billing regulations.
  • Proficiency in using EMR and EHR systems for efficient record-keeping and claim processing.
  • Solid knowledge of CPT coding, ICD-10, as well as general medical coding principles.
  • Experience in medical collections with a track record of successfully resolving billing issues.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all aspects of billing operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers, insurance representatives, and team members.
  • Prior experience working in a medical office setting is preferred.
  • NextGen experience a plus.
  • CPC preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
