Summary

Performs preventive maintenance, replacement, repairs, and maintains industrial equipment such as motors, various pumps, exhaust fans, air compressors, HTHW and Chilled water valves and piping, backflow preventer devices, diesel engine generator units, plumbing fixtures and drain systems and any and all other relative equipment within an industrial/utility environment.

Qualification Requirements

Daily work tasking would involve inspecting mechanical equipment per schedule for normal and/or abnormal conditions, perform any and all repairs as required to maintain good operating conditions and reliability. Perform all work order repairs and replacement of defective parts or machinery and equipment as required. Work would also involve any corrosion control / painting of equipment that is deemed necessary. Perform any and all housekeeping duties of work areas and facilities on a reoccurring basis. Maintain any and all required certificates and training required to test and maintain specific equipment for normal operation.

Minimum Qualifications

· High School Diploma or Equivalent

· At least 5 years' experience in Facility, Industrial, or Utility equipment maintenance.

· Be able to acquire Backflow Tester certification through Backflow Tester Certification Training Program.

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety procedures and/or rules, operation and maintenance manuals, and written directions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

· Maintenance Mechanics are expected to possess the skills, knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

· Maintenance Mechanic shall furnish hand tools appropriate for the safe and efficient performance of the position.

· Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and CMMS (Facility Dude) software programs.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

· Display professional behavior at all times.

Physical Demands

· Mist be able to routinely lift 50 lbs.

· Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and in and out of valve pits.

· Must be able to be on feet for duration of shift if necessary.

· Personal Protective Equipment must be worn in performance of some duties

· Work with hazardous materials may be required.

· Position requires a post-offer physical examination and drug screening.

Work Environment

· Maintenance Mechanic can be expected to work in an Industrial environment.

· Be expected to work in confined spaces.

· "On-Call" status will be periodically required.

· Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with weekend and holiday work as required by schedule, work load, and plant conditions.

· No smoking or use of any tobacco products, e-cigarettes or vapor nicotine delivery system permitted anywhere at the facility.
