Senior Finance Analyst, Leo, Leo Procurement Finance

Key job responsibilities
• Design, build, and maintain comprehensive financial models that evaluate satellite procurement strategies, supplier performance, and enable data-driven decision making for multi-million dollar procurement decisions across satellite component systems.
• Develop detailed cost forecasts and budget plans for satellite procurement that inform Leo's satellite production roadmap and identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency gains.
• Partner with satellite procurement stakeholders to analyze and influence supplier agreements, contract structures, and pricing models, drafting written financial summaries for Leo leadership review.
• Develop and implement scalable reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into key procurement performance indicators including purchase order tracking, inventory turnover, supplier performance metrics, and cost variance analysis for executive leadership.
A day in the life
Your day starts with reviewing key procurement financial metrics and preparing for a meeting with satellite procurement partners to evaluate the financial impact of a proposed supplier agreement for satellite components. You spend time analyzing contract structures, building financial models to assess total cost of ownership, and forecasting potential cost savings opportunities. You draft a financial summary on a proposed multi-year supply agreement, calling out unit economics, volume commitments, payment terms, and any supply chain risks.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of identifying and implementing opportunities to resolve finance issues, improve, scale, or simplify finance tools, technology, and processes across teams and organizations experience
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, or CPA
- 5+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
