Title: CMM Operator (2nd Shift 3pm-11:30pm) – Sterling Heights, MI

Job Description: A detail oriented and organized individual to join our company as a CMM Operator in our Quality Department. This is a full-time position. This individual would operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure and inspect precision parts under minimal supervision with keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to measure and inspect precision parts under minimal supervision with keen attention to detail.
  • Use various measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other precision instruments
  • Interpret engineering drawings schematics, and CAD models to perform accurate measurements
  • Perform dimensional inspections on machined parts to ensure compliance with specifications
  • Record and analyze measurement data using computer software
  • Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues
  • Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment to ensure accuracy

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands with PPE to pick up and move parts.
  • Ability to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; and smell.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Other related duties as assigned by the supervisor
