Position: 3rd Grade Teacher

Location: Philadelphia, PA 19141

Compensation: $51 per hour

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develop and implement engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans and instructional resources.
  • Create a comprehensive scope and sequence aligned with state assessment standards to guide student learning.
  • Collaborate closely with your grade-level team to set and meet school-wide and grade-specific goals.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Maintain open, supportive communication with families to keep them informed and involved.
  • Work in partnership with ESL and special education staff to address diverse learning needs.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with students to create a safe and motivating classroom environment.
  • Participate in after-school activities and school events that enrich the student experience.
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree (required) and valid Teaching Certification.
  • Strong foundation in educational best practices, with the ability to design effective instruction.
  • Experience collaborating with teams and coordinating with specialized staff.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology to enhance learning experiences.
Your Skills & Expertise:
  • Skilled in Google Suite for Education and familiar with student information systems.
  • Experience with student intervention programs and classroom technology such as document cameras, projectors, laptops, and copiers.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and classroom management abilities.
  • Knowledge of child development, educational psychology, and effective instructional strategies.
  • Awareness of public safety, security, and social dynamics within an educational setting.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to push objects and occasionally drive.
  • Ability to lift up to 20–25 lbs and transition between seated and standing positions.
  • Comfortable navigating stairs and performing necessary physical tasks to support student needs.
