Position Summary:

The Assistant Controller will partner closely with the Corporate Controller to oversee all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls across Photronics' global operations. This is a highly visible role within a growing organization and evolving finance function, offering exposure to executive leadership and pathway for advancement. The position requires deep proficiency in US GAAP and a commitment to ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across all regions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on finance leader who combines technical expertise with strong business acumen and a collaborative leadership style. Location
: Photronics' Corporate Headquarters – Brookfield, CT (US). This is an on-site position, and we are not open to remote candidates at this time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead global accounting, reporting, and financial close activities at the corporate level, overseeing all core processes including revenue recognition, AP/AR, collections, cash management, fixed assets, consolidation, SEC reporting, forecasting, and budgeting to ensure accurate and timely financial results.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of 10-Q and 10-K filings, accounting memos, and GAAP/SEC checklists, including XBRL tagging; coordinate with cross-functional contributors to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely SEC reporting.
  • Direct technical accounting research and provide strategic guidance on complex or non-routine transactions, ensuring alignment with US GAAP and corporate objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate new accounting regulations and emerging standards, assess their impact on the company's financial reporting, and provide proactive guidance to ensure compliance and consistency across all regions.
  • Review and analyze financial statements for all sites, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with local statutory requirements, US GAAP, and management reporting standards.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly forecasts and the annual budget, analyze variances between actual and planned results, and deliver actionable insights to support management decision-making.
  • Maintain and continuously improve accounting policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with evolving business, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with internal and external auditors to complete annual and other required audits, ensuring compliance, transparency, and timely resolution of findings.
  • Oversee the company's internal control framework to ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency; identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy and control effectiveness
  • Execute quarterly internal control procedures and ensure adherence to corporate control standards across all global sites.
  • Drive and support special projects, including system implementations, process automation, and other initiatives that strengthen scalability, efficiency, and accuracy within the finance function.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of accounting professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and opportunities for growth to foster continuous improvement and professional excellence.
  • Perform other duties and strategic initiatives as assigned.

Travel:
2-5% Travel to the Asia region and other locations as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Hands-on and proficient in US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and their practical application within complex, global organizations.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial processes, including financial close, reporting, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in SEC reporting (10-Q, 10-K), with a deep understanding of related compliance and disclosure
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; Oracle experience preferred.
  • Highly organized with exceptional analytical skills and a drive for accuracy and continuous improvement
  • Strong communicator who collaborates effectively and builds credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on and approachable leader with the technical expertise and judgment to guide complex decisions and develop a high-performing team.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Experience:

  • 10+ years experience in progressive finance and accounting roles

Education:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, required. Masters Degree preferred
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA), required
