Job Overview

We are seeking talented Event Chefs and Catering Chefs to execute onsite catering services including buffet styling, plating, chef-attended stations, and small event production. This role is perfect for chefs who enjoy creativity, independence, and working in beautiful locations with appreciative clients.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to Bread & Butter recipes and quality standards
  • Set up chef stations, buffet layouts, and food displays in a clean, elevated, editorial style
  • Maintain proper food temperatures, handling, safety, and sanitation throughout events
  • Assist with loading, unloading, transporting, and organizing food, gear, and equipment
  • Cook, carve, serve, or manage live action stations (pizza, crepes, carving, brunch, etc.)
  • Follow event timelines and coordinate with event lead for smooth service flow
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and professional at all times
  • Break down stations, pack equipment, and ensure spaces are left clean after events
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with clients, guests, planners, and team
  • Represent the Bread & Butter brand with warmth, hospitality, reliability, and calm energy

Experience

  • Some kitchen or food preparation experience preferred, but not required
  • Comfortable working in fast-moving environments and staying organized
  • Ability to learn recipes, follow direction, and maintain clean work habits
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism are more important than years of experience
  • Comfortable interacting politely with clients, guests, and team members
  • Able to lift up to 30–40 lbs and stand for the duration of an event
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a California Food Handler Card
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must have access to a reliable vehicle to travel to events
  • Comfortable transporting light equipment, ingredients, or smallwares when needed
  • Ability to use GPS and navigate to private homes, venues, offices, and rooftops around LA
  • Must arrive on time and represent the company professionally

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $23.00 per hour
