About the Role

The Process Quality Engineer will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and improving quality control processes to ensure the production of high-quality products. This role will focus on optimizing injection molding, forming, and assembly processes, ensuring compliance with customers stringent quality standards and industry requirements. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address process-related quality issues.

· Collaborate with production, engineering, and development teams to optimize manufacturing processes for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

· Utilize quality tools and methodologies, such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and 8D problem-solving, to drive process improvements.

· Support the validation of new processes and equipment during product development and production ramp-up.

· Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 9001) and customers quality requirements.

· Analyze quality data and generate reports to track process performance and communicate findings to the Quality Manager and cross-functional teams.

· Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

· Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications for production processes.

· Communicate effectively with our China headquarters to align on quality standards, process improvements, and project timelines.

· Participate in internal and external audits to maintain and improve the quality management system.

· Other tasks assigned by Head of Quality / Quality Management

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.

· 3-5 years of experience in process quality engineering or a similar role, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry.

· Strong knowledge of injection molding, forming, and assembly processes, with experience in quality control for these processes.

· Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, such as SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and root cause analysis.

· Familiarity with automotive quality standards, such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001, is highly desirable.

· Proficiency with quality management software and data analysis tools

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate across international teams

· Proficiency with quality management software and statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)

Preferred

· Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field

· Professional certifications such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or Six Sigma Black Belt

· Experience in automotive tier 1 or tier 2 supplier environment

· Experience with startup or greenfield manufacturing operations

· Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin

· Familiarity with automotive injection molding and trim component manufacturing

· Experience with quality management software and statistical analysis tools
