Mission of the Role

The primary mission and job function of the plant installation technician is to deliver and install new plants at offices around the Bay Area. This includes, but is not limited to potted plants, containers, orchids and Color Arrangements. Installation technicians also replace existing plants, orchids and arrangements for our clients. Installation technicians also set up new customer accounts and fix issues with plants at customer accounts.

Holiday décor installation is a seasonal portion of this position from November to January.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a superb customer experience by being knowledgeable, trustworthy and efficient and building strong relationships with every client.
  • Delivering and installing plants, containers, orchids throughout the Bay Area. Driving vans, cargo vehicles and large box trucks.
  • Navigating through the Bay Area efficiently. Including using GPS, parking in loading docks and in busy downtown city settings.
  • Loading and unloading plants, containers, and other materials installations jobs. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting and Loading trucks multiple times in a day with repetitive motion of bending at the knees and lifting up and down.
  • Climbing ladders, using pruners, scissors, clippers and other similar sharp horticultural tools.
  • Completing paperwork at the completion of each jobfilling out correctly to complete work orders
  • Effectively communicating with co-workers using mobile technology
  • Working long hours for the Holiday décor installation schedule.
  • Working some weekends during the holiday season.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Successful candidates will have a passion for plants and plant care and experience installing or maintaining plants for a commercial indoor plant company or similar type role
  • Strong Work Ethic…you will be on your feet all day
  • An innate understanding of authentic customer service
  • Tech Savvy and comfortable using mobile technology
  • Great communication skills
  • Experience and ability to drive vans, cargo vans and box trucks
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, deal with ambiguity and make confident smart decisions

Requirements:

  • Valid CA Drivers License with Clean Driving Record
  • Physical requirements include lifting, bending, kneeling and occasional short ladder work.
