In this role, you'll be hands-on with a wide variety of maintenance and repair work that keeps our facility safe, reliable, and running smoothly. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to grow your skills. You can expect to:

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and repair work on electrical systems (motors, wiring, controls, and machinery) in line with codes and safety standards.
  • Work on refrigeration systems (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂), helping to maintain efficiency and reliability.
  • Support building infrastructure by maintaining and repairing plumbing, welding, dock doors/plates, and other key systems.
  • Service and repair material handling equipment (MHE), including forklifts and other machinery.
  • Complete and log daily work orders in our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Communicate important updates on inspections, evaluations, and equipment operation to leadership.
  • Pitch in with other maintenance tasks as needed-you'll be part of a small, skilled team where everyone contributes.
  • Oversee contractors working on or near refrigeration systems, ensuring they follow all safety and compliance standards.
  • Safely operate motorized lifts for inspections, calibration, and equipment maintenance.
What We're Looking For

You don't have to check every single box, but here are the skills and experience that will help you succeed:

  • Mechanical know-how: At least 3 years of experience maintaining equipment in warehouse, processing, or manufacturing environments (or a mix of hands-on work and trade school).
  • Technical skills:

  • 2+ years with industrial refrigeration (ammonia, Freon, and/or CO₂) or equivalent training.

  • Refrigeration Operator 1 (CARO) or equivalent certification-can be completed within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical instrumentation and the ability to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Computer skills: Comfortable with Word, Excel, and CMMS systems.
  • Communication skills: Able to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.
  • Problem solver: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Comfortable working in cold storage (as low as -20°F / -25°C) or dry storage (up to 100°F / 37°C) with proper PPE and freezer gear provided.
  • Able to lift at least 40 lbs. (heavier at some facilities).
