Senior Communication Strategist

Acuity is seeking a Senior Communications Strategist to lead advanced communication planning, execution, and impact measurement across the organization. This role will serve as the integrated communications lead, partnering with senior leaders, strategic initiative owners, and cross-functional teams to align on communication goals, audience insights, timing, and budget. The strategist will manage comprehensive communication plans and coordinate execution with internal and external partners. Additionally, this role will ensure consistency across initiatives targeting internal employee audiences and will mentor less experienced team members by providing constructive, professional feedback.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Exemplify Acuity's Common Purpose, Mission, and Values through daily actions as a leader and role model and encourage consistent customer-focused behaviors within the department and across Acuity.
- Routinely performs all essential functions of a Communication Strategist.
- Recommend and lead the creation of strategic communications plans to meet future needs and expectations for Acuity, including monitoring market dynamics to develop and/or change strategic and tactical approaches.
- Facilitate or lead effective marketing initiatives grounded by in-depth understanding of market research, customer focus groups, and consumer trends.
- Coordinate execution of communications with internal and external teams.
- Monitor and report on performance metrics and business outcomes resulting from communication plans.
- Foster the professional development of others, formally and informally, through mentoring; organize and present ongoing training opportunities that elevate the team.
- Follow industry and technology trends to support Acuity's dynamic and ongoing strategies.
- Maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all Acuity product lines, promotional materials, and events.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines.
- Reasonably regular, predictable attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in business/marketing or communications preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- Accomplished in communications with a proven track record of designing and executing comprehensive communication strategies, delivering clear and compelling messaging, and engaging diverse audiences. Skilled in developing multi-channel campaigns, producing high-quality content and materials, and leveraging emerging platforms and tools to advance organizational goals and strengthen stakeholder connections.
- Experience in the property and casualty insurance industry preferred but not required.
OTHER:
- Develop and manage holistic communication plans including defining key messaging, audience targeting and channel optimization.
- Champion the audience viewpoint, ensuring all campaigns are purpose built to be contextual and intentional.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional groups.
- Exceptional written communication skills with the ability to craft clear, compelling content across multiple mediums, including presentations, articles, executive messaging, and digital platforms.
- Eagerly embrace a wide variety of assignments with increasing complexity and responsibility.
- Experience measuring, analyzing, and optimizing campaign and program performance against established business objectives.
- Ability to adapt to change through utilization of new concepts and technologies.
- Effectively organize and accomplish tasks.
- Drive to learn new things and stay current on industry and communication trends, technologies, and tools.
- Proactively pursues professional development.
- Routinely displays leadership qualities through positive influence and teamwork.
