Direct Support Professional

Location: Hamilton NJ

We are looking for multiple dependable, compassionate, and responsible individuals with direct care experience to assist a 27-year-old young lady with developmental challenges to live her best life. This young lady resides in Mercer County/Robbinsville in her own apartment. She enjoys engaging in a variety of activities, reading, walks, listening to music, watching videos and is active with her local church & community.

The right candidate will also have the skills to introduce new and creative activities.

  • Possess a caring, positive, and interactive personality.
  • Effectively interact and communicate with other staff.
  • Must be able to handle difficult situations while maintaining a calm disposition.
  • Assist and provide guidance with daily living skills, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.
  • Assisting with customer's preferred activities
  • Medication administration
  • Schedules and routine are very important to this person and their family.

This is a rewarding position for someone who values relationship-building, promotes independence, and enjoys being out and about in the community.

Shifts available:

  • Monday through Friday: 7am to 9am
  • Tuesday: 5 to 11pm
  • Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 3pm OR 3 to 11pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 11pm to 9am

Pay Rate: Starting at $20.00 an hour.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • State required testing: fingerprinting, background check, drug screen and motor vehicle check
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
