JOB TITLE: Senior Vice President, Data Science & Artificial Intelligence

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Vice President of Data Science & Artificial Intelligence (SVP of DS & AI) will lead the vision, strategy, and execution of enterprise data and AI initiatives to transform patient services across the healthcare and pharmaceutical landscape. Reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, this executive will ensure data and AI capabilities are embedded into the company's patient support products and platforms, driving better outcomes, engagement, and adherence. The SVP will build and scale advanced analytics, machine learning, and responsible AI practices, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations while innovating in digital patient experiences.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with the Chief Product Officer to integrate AI and analytics into the company's product roadmap and patient support offerings.
  • Define and execute a product-aligned data & AI strategy that enhances patient services such as onboarding, access, adherence, and outcomes tracking.
  • Champion a culture of data-driven innovation across the product, technology, and patient services organizations.
  • Oversee data infrastructure, real-world evidence (RWE) integration, and advanced analytics that directly inform product design and patient engagement features.
  • Build predictive models for adherence risk, patient drop-off, and case management, embedding insights into patient support platforms.
  • Leverage data to optimize hub services, specialty pharmacy coordination, call center performance, and digital therapeutics.
  • Develop and deploy AI-driven features in patient services products, such as:
  • Virtual assistants and chatbots for 24/7 patient engagement.
  • NLP-driven tools to analyze patient and provider communications.
  • Predictive algorithms for adherence, refill reminders, and adverse event detection.
  • Establish scalable MLOps practices to integrate AI securely into commercial products while maintaining HIPAA, GDPR, and FDA compliance.
  • Ensure the ethical and responsible use of AI, with transparency, fairness, and patient trust as guiding principles.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Medical Affairs, and Compliance teams to ensure AI-enabled solutions align with product strategy and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with payers, providers, specialty pharmacies, and patient advocacy groups to identify new product opportunities powered by data and AI.
  • Represent the company externally as a thought leader in digital health, patient services innovation, and AI ethics.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team of data scientists, healthcare informaticians, engineers, and AI product specialists.
  • Foster collaboration between analytics teams and product managers to ensure AI use cases translate into real-world patient value.
  • Mentor future leaders in analytics and AI, creating succession pipelines aligned with the product organization.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance, including being present, on time, and prepared for work as scheduled.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's or PhD in Data Science, AI, Healthcare Informatics, Biostatistics, or related field; MBA or MPH preferred.
  • 12+ years in data analytics/AI leadership, with at least 5 in healthcare, pharma, or patient services.
  • Proven success embedding data & AI into digital health products or patient support solutions.
  • Expertise in healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR, NCPDP) and regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, FDA digital health guidance).

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong background in AI/ML (predictive modeling, NLP, RWE analytics).
  • Ability to translate analytics into product features that improve patient engagement and outcomes.
  • Executive communication and stakeholder alignment skills.
