Evening Janitor

About the Role:

The Janitor at our at Marysville location plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all employees and visitors. This position ensures that all assigned areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to union standards and facility protocols. The janitor will be responsible for routine cleaning tasks as well as addressing any immediate maintenance or cleanliness issues that arise during their shift. By upholding high standards of hygiene and orderliness, the janitor contributes directly to the overall operational efficiency and positive workplace atmosphere. This role requires a commitment to teamwork, adherence to safety guidelines, and a proactive approach to facility upkeep.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures and use of cleaning equipment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required.
• Membership or eligibility to join the relevant union representing janitorial staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a janitorial or custodial role within a unionized environment.
• Familiarity with occupational health and safety standards related to cleaning and maintenance.
• Certification in the safe handling of cleaning chemicals or hazardous materials.
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:
