GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Outpatient Clinical Services, a part-time clinician provides trauma-informed clinical services to children, youth, and/or adults both in person and virtually based on client need.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical services include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides trauma-focused therapy and crisis intervention services for children, youth, and/or adults.
  • Maintains a minimum caseload of ten clients a week.
  • Facilitates groups when there is an identified need.
  • Administers necessary assessments and evaluations with clients and their caregivers.
  • Completes required clinical documentation in a timely manner:

-Progress Notes

-Assessments/Evaluations

-Treatment forms

  • Letters/Reports when necessary

  • Attends regular supervision to review cases, treatment goals, and documentation on a weekly basis with a Clinical Supervisor encouraged to participate in weekly Clinical Team meetings.

  • Identifies patterns amongst clients, as well as additional needs they may experience.
  • Attends Department Meeting twice a year.

Functions within the Program:

  • Maintains education/training in and practices empirically based trauma treatments and intervention skills.
  • Completes all data entry in a timely manner.
  • Willingness to participate in data collection, storage, and analyzing of same for program effectiveness.
  • Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with the Attorney General's Office, DCYF, police, courts, hospitals, mental health, schools, and social service agencies as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with the Day One staff to ensure the continued successful operation of all Day One programs.
  • Demonstrates a deep commitment to, humility around, and proficiency in areas of social justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and anti-oppression.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • An understanding of issues related to trauma in the areas of sexual assault, sexual abuse, sex trafficking, as well as the impact of such trauma on the mind, body, and spirit. Group facilitation familiarity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in serving victims and effectively addressing all segments of the community.
  • Adherence to the highest ethical standards regarding client-therapist relationships and confidentiality, as well as Informed of the most current assessment tools and research in the mental health field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, multi-tasking and analytical skills and abilities.
  • Identifies and addresses complex issues with creativity and effectively.
  • Manages unforeseen challenges with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to fulfilling duties and following through on responsibilities & completing tasks.
  • Shows a desire for development and learning.
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Represents the organization confidently in interactions with clients, partners, and colleagues.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • A site-based position with hybrid option for project specific tasks or telehealth services with approval from your supervisor.
  • Caseload minimum of ten clients a week.
  • Work requires flexible hours.
  • Familiarity with and utilization of Day One's databases, including, but not limited to, TheraNest, Empower DB, and TEAMS.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Licensing in Social Work or related degree required, as well as maintenance of Professional Licensure Credentials and Liability Insurance.
  • Experience working with children, youth, adults, and families who have experienced trauma related sexual abuse, childhood physical abuse, emotional abuse/neglect.
  • Clearance through BCI and DCYF CANTS check required.
  • Additional language proficiency a plus.
