Lighting Director – Project Based

Empowering beauty through quality and care. As a trusted manufacturer and supplier of beauty, cosmetics, and personal care products, we offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lighting Director to design, coordinate, and execute the lighting to create a specific mood and enhance visibility.

Requires proven experience with professional face & headshot lighting techniques. Deep understanding of how lighting affects facial features, skin tone, and overall composition in close-up photography. This role requires collaboration with other creative personnel, strong technical knowledge of lighting equipment and electrical systems, and a creative eye for visual storytelling.

Core responsibilities:

· Design and planning: Develop lighting plans and designs based on storyboards and production goals. This includes selecting specific lights, gels, gobos, and other effects.

· Technical execution: Supervise the setup, focusing, and programming of all lighting equipment, including intelligent fixtures, consoles, and special effects.

· Team management: Lead and manage, delegating tasks and ensuring all technical aspects are performed correctly and safely.

· Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure the lighting supports the overall artistic vision and mood of the production.

· Budget and logistics: Along with the head of Creative, manage the lighting budget, coordinate the rental or purchase of equipment, and ensure all technical requirements are met within the allocated funds.

· Safety and maintenance: Ensure all lighting equipment is properly maintained, functioning correctly, and used in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key skills and qualifications:

· Technical skills: Proficiency with lighting consoles, DMX control systems, and lighting design software. Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting is essential.

· Creative skills: A strong understanding of color theory, mood-setting, and visual storytelling is crucial.

· Interpersonal essential skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are necessary for working effectively with a large production team.

· Experience: Prior experience as a lighting technician.
