Position Overview

The Construction Laborer plays a key role in supporting construction on job sites. This position involves a wide range of physical tasks, from carrying tools and materials to operating small equipment. The ideal candidate is hardworking, dependable, and ready to learn in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the installation of underground storage tanks, including cutting and threading steel pipe.
  • Operate small equipment such as a skid steer loader.
  • Load, unload, lift, and move materials as directed.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site per foreman's instructions.
  • Comply with all safety protocols and use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Keep tools accounted for, cleaned, and organized on trucks or in trailers.
  • Support work processes by preparing, sorting, measuring, cutting, and loading materials.
  • Ensure job site inventory is accurate.
  • Be available for occasional out-of-town travel (company pays for hotel and per diem for meals; weekends are always home).
  • Work flexible hours, including after-hours as needed, and in all weather conditions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Basic math, measurement, and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physically able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, and standing for 8–10 hours a day.
  • Must pass pre-employment requirements, including a drug screen and driving background check (if driving company vehicles).

Skills & Qualifications

  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Comfortable using hand tools and power tools.
  • General equipment maintenance knowledge is a plus.
