Position Summary

The Executive Director/Grant Manager (ED/GM) serves as a vital leader at the intersection of community revitalization and economic development in Rock Hall. This dynamic, full-time role requires a results-driven professional with a strong background in business development and demonstrated leadership ability.

Ideal candidates will bring prior experience in economic growth initiatives and/or non-profit administration, along with a strategic mindset and keen analytical skills. The ED/GM is expected to be a visionary with the capacity to identify development opportunities and execute plans effectively.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive, and possess excellent organizational and communication skills. They must demonstrate the ability to collaborate productively with a wide range of stakeholders, including business owners, local organizations, municipal staff, elected officials, board members, and volunteers. A commitment to teamwork, creative problem-solving, and community engagement is essential.

A sensitivity to historic preservation, thoughtful design, and the unique challenges faced by small-town businesses and property owners is also critical to success in this role.

The position reports directly to the MSRH Board of Directors and the Rock Hall Town Manager. Compensation is commensurate with experience, partially grant-based and relies on the successful implementation of predetermined metrics and regular reporting.

Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or technical college degree in a relevant field.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience in government grant writing and grant management.
  • Proficiency in grant-related software and tools.
  • Proven experience in business and economic development.

Technical Proficiency

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs.
  • Experience managing digital media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
  • Experience with CRM systems and website maintenance.

Availability

  • Must be available to attend meetings and events outside of standard business hours, including occasional weekends and travel as needed.
