Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Analytical Chemist to join our laboratory team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting complex chemical analyses, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting quality control processes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and validation of analytical methods within a dynamic environment focused on high-quality scientific research and product development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in analytical chemistry, laboratory techniques, and regulatory guidelines such as GLP, FDA regulations, and CGMP standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and prepare food/ingredient samples; perform DNA extraction and qPCR per validated SOPs (enrichment, internal/external controls, inhibition checks).
- Operate and maintain real-time PCR instruments and ancillary equipment; execute daily QC, calibrations, and environmental monitoring relevant to PCR areas.
- Validate/verify PCR methods (accuracy, precision, LoD/LoQ, inclusivity/exclusivity) and document measurement uncertainty per ISO 17025.
- Participate in proficiency testing, internal audits, and document control (SOPs, WI, forms); maintain a clean, contamination-controlled workflow (unidirectional PCR rooms).
Qualifications
- B.S.+ in Microbiology/Molecular Biology/Food Science (or related).
- Hands-on qPCR experience for food pathogens; strong aseptic technique and sample enrichment knowledge.
- Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, GDocP, and basic statistics for method verification/validation.
- Comfortable instrument maintenance, and writing clear technical reports/SOPs.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently in a fast-turnaround testing environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with rapid pathogen platforms (e.g., AOAC/AFNOR-validated kits), automation/liquid handlers, or confirmatory culture.
- Prior role in an ISO 17025-accredited food lab.

Pay: $41, $51,500.57 per year
