Position Summary

We are seeking a
Driver Onboarding Manager
who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering a best-in-class experience for our CDL drivers. This is a
critical role within the Safety Department
, focused on:

  • Onboarding CDL drivers
  • Facilitating orientation
  • Completing contracts and new-hire documentation
  • Maintaining DOT-compliant driver qualification (DQ) files
  • Administering drug and alcohol testing
  • Supporting companywide safety and compliance initiatives

You will play a key part in ensuring AFC remains compliant with all FMCSA regulations while helping every driver start their AFC journey with confidence and clarity.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Organize, coordinate, and facilitate new driver onboarding and orientation sessions.
  • Serve as a resource for new CDL drivers, answering questions and ensuring a smooth, positive experience.
  • Complete onboarding tasks in Tenstreet and McLeod, including contract execution and status changes

Compliance & Documentation

  • Create and maintain Driver Qualification (DQ) files in accordance with DOT and company standards.
  • Administer DOT-regulated random drug and alcohol screenings; interpret results and escalate concerns to the Safety Director.
  • Prepare and maintain safety manuals, permit binders, and compliance documentation.
  • Monitor and maintain driver files, fuel cards, equipment assignments, and equipment swaps.

Operational Support

  • Facilitate onboarding and off-boarding processes within the Transportation Management System.
  • Process incoming mail; scan and route documents to appropriate departments.
  • Support office organization, internal events, and team initiatives.
  • Answer Safety Department phone lines professionally and responsively.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule (every third week) for safety-related emergencies.

QualificationsRequired

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in onboarding, compliance, safety, or transportation administration
  • Working knowledge of FMCSRs, DOT requirements, and driver onboarding standards
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Positive, solutions-focused attitude

  • Standard office environment with consistent use of computers and office equipment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for limited after-hours needs
